Chateau Neuilly

Kayaking the River L’Elle

The river L'Elle is a tributary of the Vire and flows right past Chateau Neuilly. If you have a kayak there is a launch point in the picnic area outside the Chateau.

The river is lined by thick vegetation and many many trees. There is abundant wildlife including otters, water rats, herons, buzzards, storks and kingfishers. It is possible to paddle upstream for about 4 miles but you will have to navigate some fallen trees.
